Starsky & Hutch: Day 43Posted by Claudia (Illinois, United States) on 17 June 2009 in Transportation. I took this one a couple of months ago when I was practicing with manual settings and DOF. I loooove Starsky and Hutch---coolest cops ever. My sister and I bought these die-cast sets of the two figures and Starsky's red Gran Torino (the Striped Tomato). I just set it up one afternoon, added a free clipart skyline behind it and had some fun with it. Thank you for stopping by and taking time to view my photos. If you have a few extra moments, please leave a comment--they are sincerely appreciated!

@frederique: :) Souvenir of the coolest cops ever! haha. LESLIE from norwich, United KingdomCOOL shot Claudia, great use of D of F. Just shows we are all still kids at heart when we keep our old toys. ( Great TV series as well, remember it well - i even had the large chunky jumper made for me), 17 Jun 2009 7:16am @LESLIE: Thanks, Les. Oh, makes me laugh to think of Starky's big sweater (jumper). Describing it as "chunky" is perfect. :) :) @kisskool: Merci, KissK! Barbara from Florida, United StatesGreat image, makes me think of a tilt-shift. Neat collector piece and a bit of nostalgia. I like your explaination and how you used a clipart for the background, appropriate one too. 17 Jun 2009 1:55pm @Barbara: Thank you, Barbara! Funny you mentioned tilt-shift. I was playing around with some photos I took of Chicago from the top of the Sears Tower and I was making it look like a tilt-shift photo by messing around in Photoshop. I may post one some day if I ever get a result I like. @Sarito: Thank you, Sarito, and thanks for stopping by! Dan Meyers from Bloomington, United StatesNice angle with the backdrop. I took similar photos with diecast cars a long time ago. Check out #1, #2, #3. It is pretty cool being able to bring the "toys" to life. 17 Jun 2009 2:12pm @Dan Meyers: I love your die cast photos, Dan! Thanks for givin me the links and thanks for visiting and for your kind comments! @PD: It was awesome--the bell bottoms, the Adidas shoes, Huggy Bear, the whole shebang! :) @Laurent: Glad you like it. Laurent and thank YOU! @peter: Thank you, Peter! @Anamnésie: Thank you very much (or merci beaucooup), Anamnesie! Bill from Belton, United StatesMarvelous work Claudia! Perfect setup, DOF, lighting and perspective! I'm thinkin'... that if someone were to loan you the use of the real thing for a week you probably wouldn't get to school for at least 4 days! 18 Jun 2009 3:07am @Bill: Thanks so much Bill! Too funny about the real car. I'd love to drive that around and put the siren on the top so I could speed through a few red lights. About 3 weeks ago, I was leaving the grocery store and there in the parking lot was a Gran Torino painted exactly like Starsky's car. It was beautiful. The license plate even said, "Zebra3" which is how they were always called on their radio, "Come in Zebra 3." Naturally, I did not have my camera with me---sigh---so I took a couple pics with my cell phone. The owner came out and we had a fun conversation. Kenton from Calgary, CanadaHa, ha, that's a great shot. My friend and I used to use toys like that to make movies (yes, movies, not videos) when we were kids. I haven't thought of trying it as an adult though. 18 Jun 2009 3:23am Claudia from Illinois, United StatesTHanks for visiting, Kenton! You need to drag out all your old toys (if you still have them---I'm thinking GI Joe and things like that..), and stage a few photos. Hope you saved those movies. I bet they would be so much fun to watch now! 18 Jun 2009 3:49am Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesYour photo goes along with my opinion that it was always more about the car anyway. Great idea. 19 Jun 2009 3:07am @Chris Parr: Yes, the "stiped tomato." Don't tell me that you like Bo and Luke Duke better??! Francesc B. from région parisienne, FranceLol... many "souvenirs"... 20 Jul 2009 7:24pm @Francesc B.: Thanks for stopping by, Francesc! You know, I keep forgetting to add my photos to my portfolio. Thanks for reminding me. I'll have to work on that. :) |
