Half-a Hound Head: Day 60Posted by Claudia (Illinois, United States) on 4 July 2009 in Animal & Insect. My firend's Ibizan hound, Bunny. She is a beautiful, goofy and sweet dog. She is also a history maker among the Ibizan Hounds. SHe is the top winning Ibizan hound in US history. She won the Hound Group at the Westminster Kennel Club show in 2003 (which means she was one of the 7 dogs in the ring at the end for the final judging). Ibizan hounds have big ears...I could only fit one of Bunny's in the frame. ;) Thank you for stopping by and taking time to view my photos. If you have a few extra moments, please leave a comment--they are sincerely appreciated!

LESLIE from norwich, United KingdomGreat - even with only 1 ear in the shot its still a very good shot Claudia, Love the B & W 4 Jul 2009 7:24am @LESLIE: Thanks. Les, and thanks for the 4th of July wishes. :) Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWay to go Bunny, you're gorgeous in a half sorta way :) lol 4 Jul 2009 7:47am @Lorraine: Haha. I won't tell Bunny's "other half" what you said. :) Thanks, Lorraine! @masoud: Thank you very much, masoud, and than you for visiting! Simply Col from Winnipeg, CanadaAnd what an ear that is... as well as a very focused eye. :-) She looks like a very nice dog. And how exciting that she did so well at the the Westminster Kennel Club show. I watch this show (on the TV) every year and am always so impressed with the variety and scope of canines. Afterwards, I get up and give my own two mutts a hug. Gotta love dogs!! 4 Jul 2009 2:49pm @Simply Col: Yes, Simply...you gotta love dogs! What would we do without them...purebred or mixed? I can't imagine my life without dogs. Thanks so much for your comment! Marianne Geyer from Atlanta, United StatesThat's my sister. She's the best 'rookie' photographer around. 4 Jul 2009 4:36pm @Marianne Geyer: Stop it, Marianne. *blush* Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomSomehow, this tight crop says more than a full portrait ever would. Very fine work. 4 Jul 2009 6:02pm @Ronnie 2¢: Ronnie, thank you very, very much! Bill from Belton, United StatesA marvelous idea for a striking shot of Bunny Claudia. Now you need only 3 or 4 more frames to display her in her full glory! (Incidentally Marianne touts you as the best "rookie" photographer... I must take exception and state that I deeply believe you have moved well beyond "Rookie" Claudia!) 4 Jul 2009 7:58pm @Bill: Haha. Yes, I will add a new body part to my blog every day and then you will have an entire image of her, Bill! And thank you so much for your wonderful compliment. I get embarrassed. :) Frissons from No City, Francecongratulations for the composition, it's very modern and artistic 5 Jul 2009 7:20am @Frissons: Merci beaucoup, Friss! Thanks for visiting! Barbara from Florida, United StatesWe get to see half of her talent... and those big bunny ears. Love the name. What a star to be in the Westminister. I love the unusual and quirky creative images, this one is perfect. I would frame it. 5 Jul 2009 4:11pm @Barbara: Thank you so much, Barb! If you like her name, you'll love the story of her name...My friend, Wendy, was waiting for a female Ibizan hound from a kennel in California called Luxor. When the litter arrived there was only one surviving female (17 dogs in the litter). Even at one-day old, you could see a white mark on Bunny's back. It looked like the Playboy Bunny. Her registered name became Luxor's Playmate of the Year and her call name became "Bunny" A few years ago, Playboy Magazine actually contacted Wendy and asked for a photo of Bunny which they printed in one of their issues. If you go to this link http://harehillhounds.com/bunny.php and scroll down, you will see a photo of the bunny mark on her as an adult and a photo of her as a newborn pup. :) Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesWhat a cool portrait. Such an artistic expression of a dog...I can't help but smile. 5 Jul 2009 5:09pm @Chris Parr: Thank you so much, Chris! Marie from Paris, FranceVery very funny and original ! 10 Jul 2009 3:34pm @Marie: Thank you, Marie! Funny thins is..she has rabbit ears and her name is BUNNY! :) @frederique: Gald you like it, Fred.
