Getting Ready: Day 86

Posted by
Claudia (Illinois, United States) on 30 July 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Wanted to post a different image but did not have time to find the memory chip it was on so here is a Silly Tuesday picture...a couple days late. Bryce (or is it Brody? I can't tell. Ooops), getting ready for his moment in the show ring. Wish I didn't have to shoot right into the early morning sun for this but I had no choice so this is the best I could do.

frederique from Nancy, France

what a big head !!!
lol ;-))
funny shot
have a nice day Claudia

30 Jul 2009 8:36am

@frederique: Ibizan ears are perfect for these goofy, wide-angle shots right, Fred? :) Thanks for commenting!

Vitor Martins from Lisboa, Portugal

Nice and funny sht:)). This dog, looks big.

30 Jul 2009 8:41am

@Vitor Martins: Thank you, Vitor. They are tall dogs but do not weigh that much. They are taller than Labrador Retrievers but healthy labs can weigh up to 75 pounds. Ibizans usually top out between 50 - 60 pounds (don't have the metric conversion on-hand. Sorry!) They are very agile and elegent dogs.

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

ha ha . . brilliant . . shooting into the light makes it even more spectacular !!

30 Jul 2009 12:59pm

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks so much, Ronnie. His face cracks me up, too so I'm glad it made you laugh. :)

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Unbelievable I love how you took it...

30 Jul 2009 2:27pm

@MARIANA: Thanks so much, Mariana. It makes me laugh, too. :)

Francesc B. from région parisienne, France

Funny angle !!! like a character on a 3D movie... :))

30 Jul 2009 2:45pm

@Francesc B.: Perfect description, Francesc! He does look like a 3D character. Ha!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

I love it!

30 Jul 2009 2:56pm

@Viewfinder: Glad you do--thanks! :)

PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United States

He is a very patient guy isnt he?

30 Jul 2009 3:00pm

@PD: He had no choice--he was tied to the grooming arm. Dog showing is not my thing. My friends used to try to get me to help by taking the dogs into the ring and showing them but I just can't do it. I tried with my basenji before (just for fun), and I came to the conclusion that I just suck at it. I hate it. I'd much rather just offer support from the sidelines.

LESLIE from norwich, United Kingdom

Thats a brilliant shot Claudia, just love the way he's looking straight down the lens, combined with the wide angle makes him look huge. LOVE IT ******

30 Jul 2009 3:53pm

@LESLIE: Thanks so much, Les! He does look huge and gangly, doesn't he? He's about the hieght of a greyhound or Afghan.

Guinyv from France

Hello ! lol y dont speak.... amitiés Yves

30 Jul 2009 4:04pm

@Guinyv: Merci pour votre visite, Yves. Je ne suis pas bon au fait de parler le français non plus! :)

Mj007 from Osaka, Japan

how tall is he!? he might be more than me : ) nice shot!

30 Jul 2009 5:46pm

@Mj007: Well, from the ground to his withers he is about 27 inches (68.6 cm) tall so I bet you are taller than him. But he does look tall in the photo. :) Thanks for visiting!

cindy brown from United States

Nice shot! The sun shining through his ear just makes it that much better!

30 Jul 2009 11:41pm

@cindy brown: Thank you so much, Cindy. Hope Emma is doing well tonight!

Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United States

I love that dry expression. Great image.

31 Jul 2009 1:11am

@Chris Parr: I know..he's got a look like he's thinking, "Are you kidding me, Lady? You want to take a picture of me like this??" Thanks, Chris!

Bill from Belton, United States

Well to me it looks as if Br_ _ _ is terribly bored with this whole primping thing! Even if that is true, you did a credible job with his portrait Claudia.

31 Jul 2009 1:20am

@Bill: I think it might be Bryce and if that is the case, than you are right on the money, Bill. Bryce is not currently enjoying the show scene. In fact, Wendy showed him the day I took this photo but she pulled him the next day. He was not enjoying himself. Thanks, Bill!

Food from Las Cruces, NM, United States

Awesome shot. That dog is seriously irritated.

31 Jul 2009 3:57am

@Food: Hahaha! He really does look irritated, doesn't he? In actuality, I think he was just trying to figure out what that big black thing was doing up in his face. I let him smell the camera for a bit and he seemed better after that. :) Thanks, Food!

Mags from Paris, France

So weird :)

31 Jul 2009 1:47pm

@Mags: LOL. Yes, weird is also a perfect word for this image. Thanks, Mags! :)

Kimberly from St. Louis, United States

This is great, Claudia. He looks like the Eeyore dog.
Kim

31 Jul 2009 2:57pm

@Kimberly: Hi, Kim---Is this Brody or Bryce, do you know? Anyhow, he looks like the goofy boy he is no matter who he is!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Hilarious! I love this. My first thought was a horse when the image opened. What a great shot. He stands there looking serious getting ready for the show.

1 Aug 2009 4:48am

@Barbara: Haha. Yes, I can see why you'd think he was a horse, Barbara. Thanks for your comment! :)

Addey Kehinde from London, United Kingdom

Hahaaa...cool, soo coool!!

1 Aug 2009 7:31pm
